School Based Health Centers are medical clinics that offer children and youth health care in a school or on school grounds. They help children and youth receive the care they need when they need it.

School Based Health Care utilizes primary care providers such as doctors, nurse practitioners and physician's assistants.  HealthWorks will focus on medical care by sending our medical team to the Junior High schools. We will work with the school nurse to help youth stay healthy and in school.

Community partnerships that include schools, school boards, parents, students, and medical professionals create and support school based health care.

School-Based Health Care does NOT replace required school health services for Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE), but instead provides support. It also does NOT replace parents/guardians, school nurses, school counselors, pediatricians, or other existing services.
